Michael Dodd

Head of Media Training

Michael is a broadcast journalist who has served as Berlin Correspondent, London Correspondent and Canberra Correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He lectures in broadcast journalism and presentation skills at the University of Westminster. He received an award from the BBC’s File on Four programme after his students won the Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes for documentary-making in a competition held to mark the show’s twenty-fifth anniversary.

Michael has been awarded the latest “New Speaker of the Year” title by the Academy for Chief Executives, the business leaders' learning group, after being elected for the award from hundreds of speakers who address their members across the UK and around the world. He has taught media skills to hundreds of business people, civil servants, military personnel, lawyers, health professionals and charity workers.

Michael is best known for his live reviews of British newspapers on Sky News which he has been doing for over a decade. He is also a regular commentator on national and international issues for BBC television and radio as well as a judge for the Royal Television Society's annual journalism awards.
